Development aid is not only a matter of urgency but really a case of neccessity to help these people who live below the poverty line. Catalunya is aware of the need of this aid and in recent years has been pushing through many projects to ensure financial aid reaches those areas of the world which need it the most!

Many start up companies in Catalunya have started projects with the notion of ´teaming´ and ´crowd funding', where even a small amount of the contributors money can go a long way in helping the need!

This article looks at two companies which have contributed in this arena.

First we look at iwith.org, this company has recently started a new project with the notion of teaming in mind.

So what exactly is ´teaming' and how will it help iwith.org in giving aid to developing countries?.

Teaming is essentially a concept which aims to collect micro donations which individually would not be viable but collective through the ´pooling'prove to be beneficial for the wider community. For example even if an individual only donates 1 euro, this when combined with the other micro donations of the fellow employees of the individual form a sizeable amount. the team then collectively decides where to donate the money.

The advantage essentially lies in the fact that it is a symbolic voluntary contribution which does not affect the individual but which represents a significant permanent aid when combined. At the moment iwith.org have been preparing a questionnaire that will be distributed across various countries, to help them to understand what exactly motivates individuals to donate money o charities and non profit organisations.

The concept of teaming makes it clear that even a little help or donation can go a long away. Hopefully this will motivate more Spaniards to donate some money even if it is a small amount. With the effects of the aftermath of the economic crisis and the soaring levels of unemployment , many non profits and charitable organisations are aware of the fact that many people are not willing to donate a large amount hence they hope that if more people learn about the concept of teaming, catalunya can a larger amount of money to contribute more widely in providing aid to developing countries and to people living below the poverty line.

Many non profits have also branched out into the technological sector, they aim to make more use of the Internet in order to gather more charitable donations.

For example Smilemundo (they still have not a web just now) aims to make use of the concept of crowd funding via the internet this is the collective cooperation, attention and trust by people who network and pool their money together, usually via the Internet, in order to support efforts initiated by other people or organizations. Smilemundo.org aims to collect money for all different types sectors of soceity, including animals and the environment. A key idea behind this project is that everyones gets to vote for the type of project that they want their money to go towards the one that gets the highest vote gets the money!!

As can be seen from the aforementioned paragraph more and more ways are being thought of every year to gather donations. In Catalunya more innovative methods are beingh thought of each year, to motivate more people to help in the charitable sphere. A greater number of people are increasingly aware of the problems arising in the world and are willing to contribute in some way or the other to help these problems to be resolved. Many NGOs are increasingly aware of the need gather together smaller donations as due to the effects of crisis al people are willing to donate large sums. Nevertheless even a little help from each individual can go a long way!
