International Seminar 'Culture and Development' in Girona (Catalonia)
The EU International Seminar Culture and Development will take place in Girona on 4-5 May 2010. The event is part of the Spanish EU Presidency, and will be hosted in the city of Girona with the collaboration of the University of Girona, which holds the pioneering UNESCO Chair for Cultural Policies and Cooperation.
The Seminar will review experiences reflecting that investing in culture is a way to attain diverse objectives in the fight against poverty, and will analyse a series of programmes and projects that can serve as a collection of "best practices".
After the conclusion of the Seminar, in the morning of the 6th May, EU Member States, the European Commission and cultural organisms and institutes will have an informal work meeting.
The venue set to host the three sections will be the Parc Científic i Tecnològic of the University of Girona.
