Celebrating the International Year of Biodiversity in Barcelona

Resum: 

On 12 and June 13, 2010, to celebrate the International Year of Biodiversity, the University of Barcelona and Barcelona City Council are organising BioBlitzBcn, the first intensive research on biodiversity carried out by volunteers, scientists, students, and interested people who will work together for 24 hours to determine the biological diversity of the city of Barcelona.

The objective of this first BioBlitzBcn is to further observation and awareness of urban biodiversity and raise awareness to all citizens of the need for its preservation.This event is part of the celebrations of International Year of Biodiversity. The BioBlitz is an initiative of the University of Barcelona and Barcelona City Council.


How to participate?

You can collaborate in this intensive research on biological diversity, together with scientists and specialists that meet and extend the list of species in the city. You can read the facts and figures for each group with basic indications of the different species, where you can find them and how to make the observation.
