Catalonia, new headquarters of the Global Movement for Children

Following an agreement between the Catalan Government and the president of the Global Movement for children – Catalonia will be the new headquarters of the world-wide movement of organisations and people - including children - uniting efforts to build a world fit for children.
The main reasons behind this move is the committment and support provided by the Catalan Government to issues related to children and children’s rights, its support to the UN Millenium Development Goals an dits policy of development cooperation.
Ten child rights organisations and networks are currently working together on a number of common initiatives in support of and as part of the Global Movement for Children. These are BRAC, CARE, ENDA, Latin American and Caribbean Network for Children, NetAid, Oxfam, Plan, Save the Children, UNICEF, World Vision and the Alliance of Youth CEOs.
